Senator Ralph Recto asks the LTFRB and DOTR on the guidelines that will be implemented for public transportation when the ECQ has been relaxed and replaced with GCQ.
Upon questioning by Recto, LTFRB Chair Delgra said no fare increase will be imposed on public riders despite the reduced 50% seating capacity for buses and jeepneys to give way to social distancing.
The DOTR is proposing a fuel subsidy to bus and jeepney drivers, equivalent to 30% of their daily fuel consumption – 36 liters or P1,200 for buses and 12 liters or P360 for jeepneys. The daily fuel subsidy which is being proposed to run for 3 months will amount to P8.8 billion.
