Sen. Ralph Recto said the government must first improve the operations of MRT before it contemplates any fare hike.

“Pagandahin muna ang serbisyo so that there will be less resistance from the riding public. Or maybe we can talk about it (fare hike) once the LRT-MRT loop is completed,” he said.
